A Family Trade, Now in Its Second Generation

GM Tile Designs is a family-owned and family-operated remodeling and general contracting company. We work out of Magnolia and serve The Woodlands, the Memorial area of Houston, Jersey Village, and homes and businesses across the greater Houston area. The short version of who we are: a hands-on family team that answers its own phone, backed by decades in the trade.

It started with our father, Ulises. He has been in the trade for 20+ years, and over those decades he built up a long track record of satisfied clients and a reputation for tile and stone work that holds up long after the crew leaves. Our family's roots in the business go back 20+ years. That is where the standards came from. Do the layers nobody sees right, and the part everybody sees takes care of itself.

Uriel grew up inside all of it. He was practically raised on job sites, mixing thinset and watching his father set tile before he was old enough to drive. He did not learn this craft from a book. He learned it on his knees on a bathroom floor, next to the man who taught the rest of us too. He has been working in his father's business since he was a teenager, and after 10+ years on the tools he stepped into a leading role.

These days Uriel and his brothers Uzziel and Ulises Jr. are taking on more of the leadership. Uriel shares ownership with his father and has been pointing the business toward growth, bringing the energy of a hungry second generation together with decades of his father's hard-won experience standing behind every quote. Ulises is still an owner and still sets the standard, even as he eases back from the day-to-day. Uriel answers the phone himself, and his brothers work the jobs with him. The family leads the work and the skilled craftsmen who come to your job site are held to the standard the Gutierrez name is built on.

He grew up on job sites, learned the craft hands-on from his father, and answers the phone himself while helping push the business to grow.

What We Stand For

We are a faith- and community-minded family, and that shapes how we do business. We believe in supporting the local businesses around us, and we give back where we can. Uriel has done free remodeling and repair work for widows in the Central Baptist congregation, and for other neighbors who needed a hand and could not afford one, fixing failing showers and worn-out bathrooms at no charge and to the same standard as our paid work.
