Tub-to-Shower Conversion

Most homeowners who call us about this have not taken a bath in years. The tub sits there collecting dust, the room feels tight, and stepping over the wall is getting harder, not easier. Swapping it for a walk-in shower solves all three at once.

We start by pulling the old tub and checking what is behind it, because that is where hidden water damage usually hides. Then we adjust the drain and plumbing, frame the new opening, and build a sloped, fully waterproofed shower pan. Only after the room is watertight do we set the tile. A converted shower can include a built-in bench, a recessed niche for bottles, and a low or curbless entry that is easier to step into.

This is the most requested upgrade in our bathroom remodeling work, and we install them across The Woodlands and throughout Montgomery County.

A shower lives or dies on what you cannot see. We build a properly sloped pan so water always finds the drain, install a waterproof membrane behind every tiled wall, and set the tile flat with tight, even grout lines. Done right, it keeps water out for decades instead of leaking back into the wall a few years later.

From there, you choose the look. Large-format porcelain for easy cleaning, a tile accent strip, a glass enclosure, or even heated bathroom floors so the tile is warm underfoot. If you want a fully open feel, pair the conversion with a frameless glass shower enclosure. Tile and stone is our flagship craft, so the finish work is the part we are most proud of.
