Full Bathroom Remodel

A full remodel means we take the room back to the studs when it makes sense and rebuild it the right way. That starts with demo and proper waterproofing, the step most rushed jobs skip. From there we set the tile, install the shower or tub, hang the vanity, and finish with fixtures, mirrors, lighting, and paint.

Most homeowners pair a few upgrades at once because it is cheaper to do them together. A walk-in shower with a frameless glass enclosure is the most requested combination in The Woodlands. Many clients also add heated bathroom floors so the tile is warm on a cool morning. One luxury master remodel we completed combined heated floors, a smart shower, a tub-to-shower conversion, and all new cabinets in a single phase.

Master baths and guest baths

We remodel both. A master bath is usually a bigger lift with a separate shower and tub, a double vanity, and more tile. A guest or hall bath is a faster project with a tighter footprint. Either way the same family-owned company runs the job, and we treat your home like we treat our own.

Homeowners ask what the weeks actually look like, because a bathroom is the room you cannot easily do without. Here is the order we work in and what each stage means for your house.

1. Walkthrough and written estimate

A member of the Gutierrez family walks the space with you, measures, and asks what is not working about the room today. You get the scope and the range in writing before anything is committed. Nothing starts until you have read it.

2. Demo and haul-off

We contain the work area, protect the floors and doorways on the path in, and take the room down to what we need to rebuild. Old tile, the tub or pan, and any water-damaged material go out the same way they came in. This is also the stage where we find out what the previous installer actually did behind the wall.

3. Rough-in

Framing changes, blocking for benches and niches, and any plumbing or electrical rough-in all happen while the walls are open. If you are moving a shower, a tub, or a vanity, this is the stage that sets your timeline.

4. Waterproofing

The pan gets sloped to the drain, the membrane goes on, and every seam and corner is sealed. Nobody will ever see this stage, and it is the one that decides whether the room is still sound in twenty years.

5. Tile and stone

Our flagship craft, and the reason most clients call us in the first place. Floors, walls, shower surround, niches, and any feature work get set, spaced, and grouted by skilled craftsmen who set tile every day rather than a general laborer filling in for the week.

6. Finish work and final walk-through

Vanity, countertop, glass, fixtures, mirrors, lighting, and paint go in, then we clean the room and walk it with you. Anything that is not right at the walk-through gets fixed before we call the job done.

Two bathrooms of the same size can be very different projects. These are the decisions that move a full bathroom remodel the most, in rough order of impact.

• Whether the plumbing moves. Keeping the shower, tub, and toilet in their existing locations is the single biggest way to protect a budget. Relocating a drain means opening the floor, and in a slab-on-grade house that is real work.
• What replaces the tub. A tub-to-shower conversion reclaims floor space, a straight bathtub replacement keeps the footprint, and a walk-in tub is worth considering if someone in the house is planning to stay put for the long run.
• The shower enclosure. A frameless glass enclosure opens the room up and shows off the tile, and it costs more than a framed door or a curtain rod.
• Tile choice and layout. Large-format porcelain covers ground quickly and cleanly. Mosaic, herringbone, and natural stone take far longer to set, and the labor is priced accordingly.
• The vanity and the top. Stock cabinetry versus custom vanities and cabinets, and whether the counter is a stock top, quartz, or natural stone.
• Comfort upgrades. Heated bathroom floors, a custom or smart shower, a built-in bench, or a lit niche.

Tile and stone is our flagship craft, and the reason we talk about waterproofing more than we talk about tile patterns is simple: the failures we get called in to fix are almost never about the tile.

A shower is a wet room pretending to be a dry one. Water gets through grout, because grout is not waterproof and was never meant to be. What actually keeps water out of your framing and subfloor is everything sitting behind the tile, a pan sloped correctly so it drains instead of holding water, a continuous membrane with no gaps, and seams, corners, and the curb sealed properly. Skip or rush any of that and the tile still looks fine for a few years while the wall behind it quietly rots.

Gulf Coast humidity is unforgiving about this. A bathroom in Montgomery or Harris County that never fully dries out between uses puts a constant load on the assembly, so shortcuts that might survive in a dry climate do not survive here. It is also why we inspect what is behind the wall during demo and tell you plainly if we find a problem rather than tiling over it.
