Uriel Gutierrez and his brothers Uzziel and Ulises Jr. are taking on more of a leadership role, the second generation of the family in the trade, and it stands on their father Ulises's decades of craftsmanship. Founder Ulises Gutierrez built that reputation tile by tile, and his son Uriel grew up on those job sites, working in his father's business since he was a teenager. After 10+ years on the tools, Uriel — alongside his brothers Uzziel and Ulises Jr. — took on more of a leadership role as the family launched GM Tile Designs LLC in 2021 as the second-generation business, so when you hire us you get hands-on leaders backed by decades of hard-earned experience. Are you licensed and insured?

Yes, we carry insurance on our work, and we are happy to confirm coverage before a project starts. Texas does not issue a statewide general contractor license the way some states do, so the things that actually protect you are insurance, a real track record, and references you can call. We work out of Magnolia and cover most of the greater Houston area. Our most active markets are The Woodlands (including villages like Sterling Ridge, Creekside Park, and Alden Bridge), the Memorial corridor in Houston, and Jersey Village. We also work often in Conroe, Tomball, Katy, Spring, and Cypress. We are a service-area business with no public showroom, so we come to you. What remodeling services do you offer?

A wide range, and all under one family. Bathrooms are our highest-volume work, and custom tile and stone is the craft this whole company grew from. Beyond that we handle flooring, including hardwood, tile, and epoxy coatings, plus kitchens, outdoor living, home additions, concrete and driveways, roofing, and interior and exterior painting. We also do commercial build-outs; we handled all the tile and masonry for the Chick-fil-A in Tomball. If your project touches four or five trades at once, that is where a true general contractor earns its keep, because you deal with one team instead of juggling everyone yourself.

Do you do full bathroom remodels or just tile work?

Both, and that is the point. Tile and stone is our flagship craft, but most clients want the whole bathroom handled, so we do full remodels from demo to the final caulk line. Yes. Epoxy garage floor coatings are one of the services we are actively growing, and they hold up well against Texas heat and the chemicals a garage sees. We also install hardwood, tile flooring throughout a whole house, and other floor coatings. Good flooring lives or dies on what happens before the finish goes down, and that is where a lot of cheaper installs cut corners.

We do. Concrete and driveways are another growth service for us, including concrete and gravel driveways, patios, flatwork, and epoxy garage floors.
